Bill Weiss , Elizabeth Harris, 529 West 20 th Street (thru Oct.6)

Mr. Weiss's small, square paintings hover between abstraction and representation. His are extremely simplified cartoon landscapes with variously textured skies and grounds and little buildings, mechanical structures or plants that play off or penetrate horizon lines to spatially and psychologically ambiguous effect.
